The BioFORGE is a student-led research team under the BioExperience program at the University of Ottawa. Our goal is to produce intuitive lab equipment for research groups requiring low-cost alternatives to expensive commercial devices. We aim to make a lasting impact on the Canadian BioEconomy by giving more communities the ability to participate in higher-level research, ultimately enriching academia and fostering innovation. Overall, BioFORGE is working to make research accessible to everyone!

OUR PROCESS
The BioFORGE strives to design low-cost instruments without sacrificing functionality. Our design process starts with market research and benchmarking to acquire ideas, and ensuring that our products meet industry standards by setting target specifications. We then begin drafting conceptual designs and prototyping 3D models, repeating this process until we get the best possible product.
